Experience boundary-pushing visually led performance and animated film, broadcast direct to your home. For the first time in 2021, MANIPULATE presents a digital performance programme spanning puppetry, visual and physical theatre, animated film, aerial and contortion, alongside workshops, social events and discussions. Enjoy work from leading Scottish and International artists alongside exciting new voices – artists include Manual Cinema, Ariel Doron, Sita Pieraccini, Snap – Elastic, The Lonely Sailors, LARDS and MegaHertz.
For the ‘live’ festival experience, audiences can attend our evening premiere events, where you can stream a curated line-up of both live and pre-recorded works in real time alongside festival audiences across the world. Ticket holders can also watch each piece on catch-up through until midnight on Sunday 7 February, so that you can watch festival events around your own schedule at times that work for you.
The programme comprises an exciting blend of artists who were already lined up to perform their works live at MANIPULATE this year, and have adapted their work to film or are experimenting in a digital space, alongside artists whose work was specifically created for an online context and plays with form, genre and platform. WAYS TO WATCH
Each evening from 29 January to 5 February we will premiere a curated selection of works live through our ticketing platform, Citizen Ticket. As you browse through our programme, each work will specify the day that the premiere is scheduled. You can choose to buy a ticket for the events scheduled on that day only, and clicking the DAY PASS link on the event page for any event in our digital programme will take you directly to the booking page for that evening of work. Following the initial premiere, DAY PASS holders will be able to watch the works on catch-up via the same ticket platform, through until midnight on Sunday 7 February. (£10/£7)
DIGITAL FESTIVAL PASS / The pass is only available until Friday 29 January at 9AM.
