Continuing the festival’s expansion from the previous year, for the first time we presented events at Summerhall in Edinburgh, the Tron in Glasgow, The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen and Lochgelly Centre in Fife. As well as acclaimed productions from Estonia, Israel, Russia and the USA, MANIPULATE welcomed the return of The Paper Cinema with The Odyssey, a piece enjoyed and celebrated by audiences all over the world. The festival finished with Schikelgruber, the landmark production from Australian-Dutch master puppeteer Neville Tranter, and the first appearance of leading Scottish company Vox Motus, with a re-mount of its hit show Slick.
