In a lively programme of theatre and animated films from around the world, we welcomed the return of 1927 with its hit production The Animals and Children Took to the Streets and Duda Paiva with Malediction. We also presented the controversial piece Jerk. Based on true events, this powerful and disturbing look into the mind and motivations of a serial killer was created by one of Europe’s leading experimental directors, Gisele Vienne. Leading Scottish company Tortoise in a Nutshell also appeared at MANIPULATE for the first time, with its charming production, The Last Miner.
